I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe that I have a couple issues with I cannot figure out. Need help.

1. Starts fine when its been sitting several hours, rest of the time takes a long time to start. I've had a new fuel pump installed less than a year ago, change the fuel pressure regulator twice, thought maybe the first time I got a bad one, still hasn't fixed it. Ideas?

2. Every once in a while, maybe once or twice a month my Tahoe will not want to down shift when I get on it to pass someone, or when I come to a hard stop it will take a minute to down shift so I can take back off. Recently had a cooler hose blow a hole, so while I was replacing that I changed the filter and fluid. When I dropped the pan it was clean as a whistle. No trash or metal. Took a small magnet to the oil and picked no shavings up. Any ideas?

How long have you had it?
and Have you reset any codes or unplugged the battery for an extended period of time?

I've had it 3 years. I had the codes reset a few months back when the service engine light came on. It was for the gas cap. Hadn't had the battery unhooked.

ok, if something happened with the battery recently I would have said maybe it needs a relearn. I have read different threads about the solenoids going bad. I would check into that.

I reset some codes myself and it reset the ECU and the PCM and I was shifting real bad for a few days. But then it went back to Normal. I have a 2001 Tahoe.
