SO I am new to posting stuff in forums, but I have a problem. I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe Z71. In the last 2 weeks both of my front doors have quit opening from the inside. I have to roll the window down and open from the outside. What part could have broke? Some kind of actuator? All I am finding online is lock actuators. The locks seems to work fine although they do stick halfway sometimes. Could someone point me in the right direction. It is getting a little embarrassing!!!!!!!!

damn, thats sh!tty..... I dont know what your problem is, all i can do is tell you how i would try to solve the problem... hopefully you are a handy dude

I would pull the interior door panel off... this will give you a visible idea as to what is now working. I am not sure how these new door setups actually work to be perfectly honest with you, but i think if you could get inside the door it would help.

seriously tho, thats a weird problem. was there any recent stereo work done where the tech may have had to disconnect the arms/cables or whatever is inside the door that links the handle to the latches?? if what i said sounds dumb, sorry, never had my panelling off before!

So the hubby is the handy one, not me......I'm the thinker he's the hands. We know we have to take the interior panel off, I was just hoping that maybe somebody might have a part in mind so that I could have it here when we do that. He says he knows what it is, but I am not so sure he does. Nope we haven't had any kind of work done related to the doors so it's not that. I guess we just need to take those panels off and see what it looks like. I am hoping to not have to take it to our local Chevy Dealer. We haven't had much luck with them in the past. So if anybody thinks of anything let me know. It is just weird that they both quit basically at the same time, but the outside handle work fine. Hmmmmm.......A real dilemma and I am tired of parking away from people so nobody sees me opening the door through the window......

to be honest with you , your probably starting off with removing the door panels, i doubt its going to be a lock actuator or anything to with the locking mechanism itself becasue they open from the outside, i notice my car unlocks when i put it in park is yours is doing this i think the locks are fine what probably is happening is the linkage from the interior door handle to the actual unlock latch is either off or has a broken tab, i would find out which it is exactly before buying parts because if you buy the wrong part then its a waste of money
