I have seen some of the newer trucks with the newer Vortechs on them. Not bad at all. Just depends on where you want the gains.

I have been using Vortech Superchargers for years. I had one on the 95 Tahoe and it worked perfect. I went to twin turbo's just because I could.

I also have had two different vortech's on my Camaro. They have always worked perfectly. I'm one a second unit on that car to move up into a higher performance range.

If you are in extreme cold weather you want the straight cut gears rather than the helical. They make more of a whining noise, but will hold up to running cold.

In the Vortech series, the SQ is for super quiet or helical cut gears. Just depends on what part of the country you are in.

I assumed that you had found a "kit" specifically for your 99 engine. If it is just the supercharger itself, you would need to buy the installation kit, minus the blower.

They include everything you need for installation.
