So I finally got my new to me 04 Z71. Everything is great (except for gas mileage, no surprise there) except for one oddity.

When running the AC it cools great but every 5 minutes or so, the air being discharged blows warm for 30 seconds and then returns to cooling. I've never had a car do this before. This isn't a normal operation is it?

The car is still under a 3 month/3000 mile GM warranty so I'd like to get it taken care of if needed.

Thanks.

It could be your freon charge is a bit low causing the compressor to cycle. Or (more likely since it is so far between times) it's cycling when you get on the accelerator with a decent force. The compressor will kick off while there is heavy acceleration on most cars. I'm sure these are no different.
