I think I may have finnaly cured the steering clunk this truck has had since 5k. After several trips to the stealer for warranty attempts that involved lube kits and at one time a new lower steering shaft. GM had redesigned a whole new shaft which was installed at a negotiated reduced cost since the truck had over 60k and was out of warranty. So far so good. As wide spread as this problem was I think GM shoud have considered a recall but I guess it didn't meet the NHTSB criteria as a safety issue?
