I recently bought my first tahoe last month a 2001 5.3 4x4. prev owner kept no service records but oil changes. I bought with check engine light on and took it to autozone and it was of course 02 sensor, i havent had time to replace yet. this morning my wife was driving and about 20 miles from our house it started sputtering and acted like it wanted to die but she made it home without it stalling. will the o2 sensor cause this or would there be something else going on?

I believe that bank 1 is left and bank 2 is right.
2 per side, one 'before' and one 'after' the cat.

That's right. They are refered to as Bank 1 Sensor 1, Bank 1 Sensor 2. That's drivers' side front (1) and rear (2). Bank 2 is the pass. side (right side).

Also, try cleaning out your throttle body. If it is dirty and hasn't been cleaned in a while, it will cause a low idle, and stalling.

If you're getting little to no pressure after priming the fuel system a few times then your fuel pump is dead and needs to be replaced.

The fuel preassure regulator could be bad that is a come part that fails it is on you fuel rail. Don't forget to always check you battery terminals and cables are in could shape and not loose. The computers get mad if they don't have the correct voltage and can make everything seem like it is bad.
