I bought a 07 LTZ with the Nav system. I've been trying to get the Speed Compensated Volume to work. My friends Montana SV6 definitely works and you can here the difference once you get to about 35kms. On mine Tahoe I've turned the stereo down to where I could barely hear it while stopped. Then I've started driving and can't hear anything but road noise. What the hell is the problem with this thing? You pay for bells and whistles, you expect them to work.

You can turn that feature on or off in the menus on the radio. I can't remember where it is in the menus, but my guess is that it's just disabled... There's a link to the nav systems' manual around here somewhere -- try the search function, and then just look it up.

I've just been trying to get it to work, I've tried the "Low", "Med" and "high" settings and still nothing no change.

Well, it sounds like a trip to the dealers. It's gotta be either the speedometer/sensor, GMLAN issue, or the nav/DVD unit itself, right? I dunno -- sorry I've got no better suggestions than to take it in.

From another forum, it was stated that the volume has to be at a normal level with vehicle stopped for the SCV to function at speed. It listed some percentages but couldn't find the post. If you have the volume real low, it defeats the SCV.

Speed Compsating Volume

I have a 2008 LTZ with the Nav. system, you are right, the thing does not comensate !!! Took it back to the dealer, GM says, it works ,but it raises the volume such a small amount we can't hear it" Is that the same as "It does not work"?
And the Navigation system can not Navigate either !!
It has tried toget me to cross a lake without a bridge, turn into a swamp, go straight when road "T's". Plus it has many errors in proper locations for address. $2500.00 down the drain..............:mad3: :mad2:
