Hello all,

I am a noob to Tahoes but am thinking I might want to pick one up by the end of the year (no real reason for me other than dealers wanting to unload off the books in the next 2 days). I am wondering about the following:

1) A used 2007 Denali with 39k miles. White on black. Dealer is asking $28k. I wonder if I could offer $18k and end up picking it up for $20k. Any thoughts on that?

2) A new 2008 Tahoe LT1 with a few options. Something with MSRP around $34k. I am wondering if I could pick one up new for $22k or so. I would think after the Red Tag price and $8000 customer cash, I should be able to find something. Any thoughts?

I appreicate any advvice you can give. Thanks!

Quinn

When you walk into a dealer you have to be realistic and try to talk them down 3 maybe even 4 grand.

But to tell you the truth, with gas prices this low the truck sales are beating car sales again. The truck market is at 51% and dealers aren't budging because there now trying to turn a profit again.

I just stopped by the dealer (Chevy) to see what I could get an LTZ for. It's pretty much full boat with the typical 3-4K swing. I got my Yukon SLT2 for over 10K off the retail back five months ago. It may be best to check out the used/demo market as I don't think resale has made the recovery yet. It looks like the dealers are taking out their losses on people buying now.

Hi,
I just joined the forum, and this looks like a good thread to start with. I just purchased an 07 LTZ, black on black w/ power folding steps. Truck is fully loaded and I paid $26,300 for it + TTL, it has 22k miles on. Oh and it's a 2WD. I got a good deal, it also helps when your friend owns the dealership :D It is a small dealer though, not a GM place.
