so i have an 07 summit hoe and was wanting to smoke the stock tails and third brake light.. i was also considering smoking the front headlights and possible the fog lights to give it an all around smoked "symmetrical" look. my plan was to run 6-8k HID is the hi/ lows, and fogs so that would look nice.

honestly for sake of ease should i buy the pre cut tint and do that? i'm under the impression the tint won't last as long, might not come out perfect (which it would need to be redone) or just take more time and sand each piece and tint with VHT night shade and clear'em..

any ideas?

Pack up all your lights (tails, heads and fogs) and send them to www.jonstintedtails.com and he'll get them smoked with paint professionally for probably around $350.
I suggest you smoke only the side marker rectangular shaped side of your headlights to save you from ticketing issues.
Should look real good when you're done!

I have my tails painted with clearcoat and a drop of black paint (thats what the painter did) which comes off easily if needed to. The precut tint wont look as good for some reason it bubbles and has a brown effect to it.

For the money you can try the precut and see how you like it as it might just feed the urge to have them tinted but for longetivity might not hold up :(

Hope this helps

i smoked my tails and the reverse light was so dark after i did it i couldent seee when i was backing up... so basicually i wasted money on the nav with reverse camera... i am looking to put a better brighter bulb in the harness but not sure which one... i went to my local hobby shop and bought 4 cans of spray tint, ask them and they will tell you which ones are removable... cost is 15 bucks at max... then i just took a scotch bright pad and water and scrubbed the light to get the grime off and make it a little abrassive... then i sprayed them waited a hour and then sprayed them again- put them back on, but i wanted them darker so i repeated that 2 weeks later(i did it after 2 weeks to make sure they were completly dry and stuck to the light but im sure you cann do it sooner) i repeated the process and they are basicully black, i talked to a depuity about them and he said its definitly illeagle but they usually wont give you a ticket enless it cant be taken off... overall cost was around 30 bucks for evrything, and time i invested was about 4 hours at most including removing them and painting... but if anyone knows the light i could put in my tails that have a blue look to them or are brighter than stock please throw it my way

The precut tint does not work well at all! I just bought some to try to tint my girlfriends tail lights on her Malibu and didn't work. Bubbled up like crazy. I had my friend who paints for a living black out my tail lights on my Silverado. I've also use the VHT stuff before but letting a body shop black them out for you looks the best overall. Hope this helps!
