My wife's Tahoe has a rattle in the front when you go over bumps...112,000 miles...2005. Sounds like it's time to change shocks. I've changed shocks in my old truck...never shocks and struts and certainly never anything with "level ride". Is this a difficult job? Anyone have suggestions?

i just took off the oem front shocks on my 2000 and replaced them with Monroe Reflex Monotube shocks they were 70.00 each at advance auto parts. i bought them online so i could use a promo code so i got 35.00 off. i also have the autoride system. i had to splice in a resistor on each shock so i didnt get the service auto ride warning light. picked them at at radio shack for 2 bucks a peice. so in total i think i walked away with a better shock for around 500.00 less then it would have cost to replace the oem elect. shock. as far as the shock goes it would be the same as any other shock i removed the wheel then removed the inner plastice fender to gain access to the top nut on the shock. you will need to be able to hold the top of the shock with vice grips or something. be sure to spray the nut before you try and remove it.
good luck!
