I have an OBS 2000 Tahoe. I heard there was a sequence that could be entered to make the door/seat belt chime go from very loud, to less loud. I could not find that in my owners manual though and a search turned up nothing, despite wording it a few different ways. When the weather permits, I'd like to eliminate the chime altogether, but thought the sequence to make it quieter would help for now. :help:

Not quite sure, but I believe your only option is to find where the chime relay is and un plug it. JMHO,

Thanks david. I think I've located the relay is ( black box to the left of brake), but I believe it controls other functions besides the door chime/seat belt chime. Rather than take the box out entirely, I read a thread where the Op bent back 3 of the tabs to eliminate the annoying chimes, but the other functions still worked. Can't seem to find again the thread, though. Anyone ?

Finally got rid of the super loud door chime. I removed the "Black Box" module, and opened it up, and removed the little speaker.

On my 05 the chime is produced by the radio. To change it turn radio off, key on press and hold 6 button on radio then scroll through settings.
