I recently replace the front seats in a 2001 Tahoe. The new seats must have come from a pickup beacuse they don't have airbags in the sides. Now my airbag light is on because there are no airbags to hook into the connection under the seat. Can I jump across that connector with a resistor to make the light go off. Is there any way that the other airbags could somehow be triggered by messing with the wiring for the seat airbags?

Yes you can jump the connector out you need to read the resistance from the seat airbags but you may have to have the light turned off using a scanner

Is there any possibility of triggering the other airbags by doing this?

No it won't trigger the airbag unless you put 12v to it....

A 2 ohm resistor on each seat did it.

Was this a measured value? I tried a 2.2 ohm resistor and it shut the light off for a few days and now its back on and flashes intermitently.

Can anyone take an actual reading from the airbag plug on the seat side and give me an actual resistance reading. I would greatly appreciate it.
The reading would need to be from a 2002 or older seat with the airbags in the seats.

Thanks
Chris
