ok here's one for you, my 06 runs e85...5.7 v8...
I had a problem with rough starts... it would be really cold and the thing needed three tries to get running...I would not start, then it would chug and die, then it would start really rough and smooth out
took it to chevy it ran a misfire code...
they replaced the "fuel pump" under warranty....
they said sometimes it just happens....
now it appears to be coming back 4 months later...
not as bad mind you but it runs really rough for about 30 seconds then smooths out...
any experiences?
I wondered about ethanol and cold starts...chevy said it's not a problem, there is no way I could be through another fuel pump?
I never let the thing get below 1/4 tank...

Maybe you have a dirty mass air flow sensor. Is easy to clean. Just pop off the sensor that you see just past your airbox attached to the tubing. Spray that with some CRC. Hopefully that's the problem because that's probably the easiest fix there is. But dirty mass air flow sensors are a very common problem and that can cause to not run smoothly.

5.3.. my bad...
I will look into the mass airflow sensor...this think only has about 38,000 on it..
and it just had the 30,000 maintenance done...
go easiest first, makes sense...
