Still looking at the Hybrid Yukon. Does anyone know if you can install a roof rack on it? The salesman doesn't believe you can. Kind of defeats the purpose of having it if you can't put a roof rack on it, don't you think? Doc

Well you CAN do it, the question is how involved it is. It would probably require removing the headliner inside the tahoe/yukon and drilling some holes in the roof. But I don't see your point on why not having a roof rack defeats the purpose of having a Yukon. There's always a hitch mounted carrier, etc.

Perhaps, but on the other side of the coin, for the manufacturer to put a roof rack on a hybrid vehicle when the engineers have taken a great effort to make the vehicle more aerodynamic and therefore fuel efficient than a regular Yukon kinda defeats their purpose as well.

You can definitely do it to your own vehicle, but it makes sense why the manufacturer would not offer it as an option on hybrid models.
