Reverse Problems... Please help...

Hi Guys,

I'm New to the forum and to Tahoes. I have a 2001 Tahoe with 149K & it has the 5.3 in it. When I put it in reverse, it sounds like it is completely stripped out and does not move. It makes kind of a loud metallic rubbing noise. All of the forward gears seem to be ok. And I noticed when I put it in park, it inches forward. Is this a common problem? Is this a problem that I can fix myself. I have rebuilt a couple manual transmissions, but never automatics.

I plan on taking the tranny out this weekend.

sorry i dont have any info on this but i would like to know also, my trucks tranny has been rebuilt alread but it kind of has a lag when i put it in reverse, i hope it doesnt go out soon but at least i can have something to refer too. good luck
