I need to replace my passenger side mirror. Can anyone provide details on the best way to pull the door panel to get at the wire connection for the power/heated mirror? I'd hate to have a broken mirror AND a broken panel. Thanks in advance!!

Take a look at this link for a 2002 Suburban, it helps a good bit:

Our 2003 was similar, but the wiring harness to the mirror was actually behind the door and clipped in place onto the door. So don't unbolt the mirror until you get the panel off and disconnect the harness. I remember tearing up the clip trying to get it out so heads up there.

I think the 2000-2002 had it where the mirror harness could be disconnected without tearing off the door panel.

Roll the window down so you can catch the mirror in case it falls off when you unbolt it.

They didn't use those plastic Christmas tree things to hold the door panel on, just screws.

Remember you have to lift the panel up to remove it. There's a bracket or something on there that it sits on.

Hope this helps.

There's one difference starting on some 03-up models. The switch panel is secured by screws from the backside of the door panel. Don't try to unclip this or you'll break it. Remove the rest of the trim, pull UP, not out, on the door panel. The harnesses for the ddm will still be plugged in. Just reach behind and unplug the harness that go to the ddm (window and lock switches).
