Rear view mirror flashes and shuts off.

The rear view mirror compass and temp will flash and then go out. Seems the hotter it is the faster it will go out. Does anyone know what the correct fix is? I think the problem is in the mirror and not the wiring to it. The Tahoe I have is a 2003 Z71.

the board and the wiring is what I have been told before. I bought another on ebay for 17.00 and it works perfect.

Are you talking about the board in the mirror? Did you replace the mirror or is there another component in the dash?
