ok i changed brake pads on the rear of a 96 tahoe, because brake on passenger side was geting realy hot.. never had done his before had a freind help. put it together wrong and after a few tries finaly got it right.. after a month of no smell or brakes heating up, i change cd player. shifting into 1st to remove dash i applied parking brake.... put dash together then tried to take off tires dragging car wont roll at idle in forward but are fine in reverse.. removed both tired drum inspected.. replace hardware on passenger brake.. adjuster wheel cylinder..springs pins. parking brake lever. the only spring i didnt get was on the cross bar for the parking brake. still dragging.. had the adjuster turned all the way in... drum was a very tight fit... replaced drum... still over heating..
.. i think maybe i twisted the parking brake wire inside the drum or sumthin thats causing only the passenger side to over heat. maybe a failed wheel cylinder... even tho i just replaced it.. searched and searched ... n know im here some one any one help

after i removed parking brake for the passenger side rear found the driver side rear was still ok. now the problem im having is getting the teeth on the cable through the little holeunder the driverside door. its the part that seperates the wire from the rubber housing about 12" behind the seperator for driver side and passenger side (where the tie in to one cable).not sure if i need the shoes apart or what seems to be 4" to short. main problem is getting the part that connects to the chassis through its housing hole.

The little fingers on each side of the cable have to be compressed then they will pull through if the cable is no good you can cut or break them off as they come on the new cable.
