Have a new 08 Tahoe with 1600 miles. I have a rattle in the pillar next to the front passenger's head - where the seat belt mounts. I have moved that mount up and down and push around but it still rattles from time to time. It is a "tin" like rattle.

Obviously under warranty but I worry the dealer won't be able to replicate the sound.

Ideas on what is causing it?

I think the sound is coming from right above your head. There is a little round piece with holes? I am guessing that it is some kind of temp sensor for the climate control. Mine just started doing it when it gets really cold out, then it stops once it warms alittle.

I could be wrong, I have not asked dealer yet. Anyone else know anything?

I had the same rattle...it was actually the spring retractor for the seat belt....it is a module that is riveted in so you cant easily replace it..I just wrapped it with felt and cloth until I could not here the springy rattle...I did not hinder the function of the mechanism of course.
