Hi all. I have an 08 Tahoe with about 4k miles. I have a rattle that has gotten progressively worse over the last couple thousand miles. It is coming from the driver's a-pillar because if I push hard on that piece of plastic, the noise goes away. The noise is similiar to a staticy feedback from the speaker, but as I said, pushing on the plastic fixes the issue until I let go.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there an easy fix? I would much rather not have to interact w/ the dealer if I can fix it myself.

On a side note, I have had nothing but problems with this truck since I bought it. Rattles, poor fit and finish, mechanical problems, etc.. I am coming from owning several BMWs. I was under the impression that domestic brands had gotten much better in the last few years. Am I expecting too much? As this truck was priced at nearly what I paid for my 2004 M3, I would think that it would be built a little better than it seems to be. I dunno...just venting I suppose.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The pillar is pretty easy to take off. Just pop the tab off the top and unscew the bolt. It just pops off after that. It is possible the tweeter in there is loose or something. Hopefully the problem will be obvious once you remove it. Or just take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it, you are well within your warranty period. I've taken my Tahoe in for some pretty picayune things and they fix them no questions asked. I'd suggest the same, they should take care of you.

The dealership is your bestfriend when your vehicle is still under warranty.
