I have an 04 tahoe and have a problem with a speaker box just sitting in the back, where is everyone putting the box or would a 10 inch sub replace the factory bose sub in the back panel?

The hollow area behind that panel would be a perfect sub enclosure. I can make a copy of the panel and build you an enclosure if you want. I have an 04 Tahoe also. I can make it if you have the time to wait. You would have to rid the jack though.

I don't have Bose cuz i do my own Audio but here is a Durango to give an idea if you have the ABS enclosure for the sub in the back. I would definitely buy some sound deadener to line it with if your using that sweet JL. You could do this at home if you can build a birdhouse...lol

03 and up have subs under the front console, and it's only a 6". Only in pre-02 models are they in the rear.

Post a pic it shouldn't be much if any different than mine. The panel just has a dummy looking subwoofer if they are the same I can make an enclosure no problem especially for a single 10". Hell just send me your panel! I have the Plainest 04 Tahoe with 4 wheel drive I could get.

Not sure if this helps you but I have an 01 Tahoe and put a 8" aftermarket sub in the rear quarter panel. There was a p.o.s. factory sub back there. I also added an aftermarket amp and put it under the rear seat. Everything is nice and hid and not in the way. Sounds great. It isn't a couple 12" pounding back there but it actually sounds VERY good for 1 8" sub.
