problems with starter.

I have a 07 Tahoe that I am in the process of finishing a engine swap and I've hit a wall. Turning the key won't engage the starter. I bench tested the starter and it works fine. The fuse relay in the big fuse boz under the hood are good. What else could this be? Is there something I'm missing?

Ok I figured that part of it on. my own fault I had forgot to hook up a ground. But I have one other question. This new motor does not have a oil level sender like the old engine. Is there something that I can put on that plug end so it doesn't say oil level low in the dash?

All you have to do is ground the wire that goes to the sensor
