As I was just about to pay 3800 this morning to 4wheelparts to do my 6inch procomp lift, 17 inch tires and rims, alignment, exhaust mod blah blah blah.. then i did a google search on pro comp lift kits. :mad2::mad2:

nothing good seemed to come out of it. everyone online seems to have problems with the procomp lift kits. :(then i called to local shops one in illinois and one in wisconsin. they both said they stopped installing procomp lifts ALONG TIME AGO. because of ****ty parts, constant fixing, and overall poor quality from procomp. :mad:then i said well why is 4wheelparts so in love with procomp ****? they own procomp people:nonod: **** isnt looking good. PLEASE SOMEONE give me a reason to buy the pro comp lift kit. I really want to but ive gotta hear something good from the kit. otherwise im gonna fork out a few more bucks and get a bds....lifetime kit as long as i own the truck. help me out here guys

i must say i have had no problems with mine what so ever. i have the "new" kit and everyone i've talked to love their kits. its was the only choice in my mind since it doesn't stick your wheels out farther in the front. i really don't like the thought of having to put wheel spacers on the rear of my truck. put the wieght of those big beefy tires and heavy rims farther out on the stock 10 bolt rear end. asking for trouble? maybe not, but i didn't feel like taking the chance on it.

if you live in an area that gets a bunch of salt and de-icer **** put on the roads in the winter have them leave the shock boots off or your shocks will rust out waaay prematurely.

if you have 4 wheel parts install your kit make sure to tell them you want all the stock parts back. make them throw in a free mount and balance on all the wheels and tires, free spline drive lug nuts, and free alignment.

it was listed as the K1500 kit when i bought it and it came with the ES9000 shocks.

i see they now have it listed as:
Silverado/Sierra 88-98 6" 1500w/ES9000 shocks K1048B $1,685.99

sounds like they may have "updated " it a bit if it now comes with idler and pitman arms that you listed up in another post.

if you got the extra cash, opt for the dual front shock hoops, makes it looks sick. it'll put you back a bit if you get expensive shocks though.

im getting the mx6 kit. its a serious kit. just as good or better than alot of kits out there. wish me well as my truck should be done withing a week. enjoy the last picture of the tahoe low. next time you see it it will be sky high...hey procomp...33s or 35s? for the occasional haul? i dont do much if any offroading so do you think 33s would be a better fit for me?

eh thats a personal choice. i had 32's on mine stock and when i put those back on it now it looks dumb. (granted they are skinny and sotckers) you'r going to have a lot of room between the tires and the body.

i wouldn't think about putting 33's on mine, but i've seen it done on other trucks. i don't have any rub issues on mine unless the trucks twisted up a bit on unlevel ground or full turn through bumps. (that or hard bumps offroad i get rub on the bottom rear of the fender. little trim will solve that one of these days)
