Please be kind to the newbie

Hey everyone I have 2003 Tahoe with slow front windows..Thought it was regulator and motor so switched out..Not the problem after double checking direct current to the motor and bypassing all switches.

My question is does anybody or everyone get a hesitation half way up. With the window stripping out it goes up without hesitation..I put it in and it lags half way up. Takes 7 seconds to go up..I have been struggling with this for the last 2 days. it is going faster after cleaning but still seems sluggish in the middle.

Thanks for any help or feedback

Don’t laugh too hard…. Clear fingernail polish!!

Sound like you have already determined the culprit… apply a thin layer of clear polish ONLY where it sticking and allow it to try toughly. It still will seal nicely but it will eliminate much of the drag.

Fixed sort of

Well all components worked and tried the nail polish and marine dry lubrication and it did not work.

Here is what I did..I took off both side of the plastic on the ends of the rubber channel seals inside the door. kept them off for a few days and rolled up and down the window many many times. the pressure from the 2 bolts on each side of the channel was giving the window resistance and slowed it down.

By taking the 2 plastic pieces off it goes up and down faster then ever. Not how I like to fix something but it works.

Thanks for your input..I spent a lot of time on this so I hope it helps someone else out.

There should be a couple of brackets with felt ends that press against the glass. These can be adjusted to allow more or less pressure against the glass.

Yes, that is correct..I adjusted the felt also but was not the problem..maybe it is just my Tahoe that is wacked on both sides..but they are moving up and down now.

Luckily I only wasted time and not much money..
