I am wondering if replacing a pwr steering pump on a 97 Tahoe is as simple as it seems? It appears as though the pump is connected by a couple bolts and then the lines carrying the fluid.

Is there something I'm missing or is this as simple as it seems?

BTW I replaced the altenator a short time ago and that was a breeze, is this comparable??

Thanks

Ok, I replaced my pump. It was a pain in the ass. Why? because I couldn't find a direct replacement. My power steering pump had electrical connection to it and I couldn't find the direct replacement. Finally I bought the pump by its self. You can purchase just the pump without the reservoir or anything else. Just pull your pump out, pull the pump assembly out of the reservoir, put the new one in place and put the assembly back in.

It will take a bit more time in labor, but less in parts.

Hope this helps.
