Ok, I was driving my 99 tahoe off road and got it stuck knee deep in mud. I put it in four wheel drive and rocked it to get it out and then bam.... power steering leaked everywhere. I opened up the top and the dip stick was melted and the fluid was literally boiling. Took it to the machanic and they said it was the pump. I bought a new pump and installed it myself and still no power steering. Took it back to the store, exchanged it and still no steering. I quickly lost the fluid and snapped the pully off inside the pump. Now I have a shorter belt bypassing the pump until I can figure out why my pump keeps dying. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
