My drivers side mirror does not fold in. I can hear a rattle in the mirror when I go over a bump at times. How do I remove the triangle piece of door to gain access to motor? Does it just unclip? Worried I will break it.
You can pop off the triangle piece on the inside of the door without a lot of trouble, it pops on and off. But I would bet that it is a broken wire in the door jam harness. I would double check all the wiring in there, I have seen wires break in the door jams often causing problems with different stuff in the doors.
Sometimes I hear a rattle seemingly coming from the mirror, like a plate or piece of something in mirror area. The mirror adjusts just fine, but it doesnt fold with power
I have an 08 Ltz that has a similar issue, there is no rattle and the only noise is the motors running when you try to use the button to fold mirrors in, does anyone know if you can replace the broken or stripped gears? And also does any aftermarket company sell maybe a brass or metal replacement gear for this problem? Thanks in advance for any information.
Hey everone, my 2011 Tahoe just began showing signs that my right side power fold mirror might give out soon, its totally sluggish. i just stopped closing them till i can find a replacement.
I found a web site with what would seem to have reasonable prices:
