1999 Tahoe 4 door 4x4

The driver/passenger side power door locks are intermittently or not working at all. The drivers side PDL never responds when the switch is used, and the passenger occasinally works. The rear barn door does't work as well.

When I took the door panel off on the drivers side, and when I inituated the switch, I could see that there was a very slight response.

The 2 rear doors work fine when the switch is used and when I use the remote.

Is there a relay that may be causing this?

Any help appreciated.

I ended up replacing the 2 front power lock modules with an extra set that I had.

I took off the door panel, and unscrewed about 8 screws from the skin with the power lock moduel. Pulled the skin outward some, lifted off the anchor, and unscrewed 3 screws from underneath the moduel. Along the way I lifted the boot that is on there for protective reasons.

Problem solved......really weird how just the 2 doors in the front went bad.

Maybe the back locks are powered off the front ones and there was too much power going to the front and it just fried?

Occasionally the passenger side front door lock would work. I'm at a loss for reasons on this. I've owned older GM pickups with essentially the same PDL's.

pdl

I have a 99 4d 4x4 hoe and had the same problem with my passenger pdl. I sprayed some wd40 on it every other day for about a week and a half or so and now it works perfectly fine.

Replace the door lock actuator

If you haven't figured this out yet. Replace the door lock actuators. My 99 had the same problem. Replacing the actuators fixed it.

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the front driver/passenger door actuators. I still need to get to the rear/cargo door actuator. That PDL actuator is weak and needs to be replaced.
