into the great unknown under the middle console...

it seems like everytime I put something in the area in front of the cup holder such as a dollar bill or a piece of paper it seems to be eaten by the space under the climate control panel...the sliver of an opening that one doesn't realize is there until it is too late is quite the irritating thing...especially when you lose something important to the people under the console and you have to take apart the middle part of your car just to get underneath the console...it is extremely difficult to get in and out of there for me yet so easy for almost everything else...

one of the reasons that I moved my cup holder to the forward position.

Yes but then it's annoying when there are two drinks and both you and your passenger have cell phones to charge. I guess my pet peeve is the sliver mentioned before coupled with the location of the 12v plugs on the panel.

21,000 miles now. my peeves:

a) The "locked' GPS that will not allow address book or previous destinations to be selected if the Tahoe is in motion. Why can't it use the passenger seat belt/airbag sensor to allow this when a passenger is in the vehicle.
b) I definitely agree on "fold flat" rear seats. What happens when you need the extra space away from home where you cannot store the seats? Real Bummer
c) I am going to absolutely wear the leather off the outer bolster of the drivers seat. I have seen this on so many GM SUVs and trucks. it needs to be reinforced.
d) Bluetooth lack is real bad for something this pricey compared to others in same price range having this.
e) Why do the seat heaters turn off when I turn the key after using remote start? If it is cold enough for them to come on at the time of remote start why turn off until I decide to turn them off.
f) I agree on peeve about XM truncation of titles. A $ 29.95 plug in XM kit does not do this.
g) Why is my fuel cap not yellow. everyone says it should be since it is flex fuel but mine is just plain black.:) Surely this takes away from resale value:).
h) Why can the corner Quick Lube reset my oil change computer every time but the dealer either cannot or does not when they change the oil?
i) Is it REALLY running on 4 cylinders? So darn smooth I think the computer is just saying it to make me feel good:). What is that crazy beeping every time I almost smack into a parking lot light pole I could not see whle backing up? Strange but somehow the darned tahoe is smarter than me (Well at least it sees better in reverse than I do). Oh yea, the lights come on by themselves and so do the wipers - at least the front ones so why not the rear one also. If you gonna spoil me with your ride, your handling, your quietness, your towing ability, your looks now that I put the 20's on, your acceleration, then why not let the rear wiper come on automatically also.
j) My real peeve. Real BLIND spot over right shoulder from mid seat headrest when at a 45 degree intersection. I have almost been the cause of several accidents due to this. The view is simply wiped out!

1--The inability to disarm the automatic door locking system - this is at the top of the list

2--The Nav system starting up the disc spinning when a door is opened - stupid

3--Ruining the flat cargo area floor beneath the middle seats and the plastic rails in the rear area (makes stuff sit real level - not)

4--Placement of the battery next to the firewall - will take forever to change

There is a battery tray near the radiator.

I know, but you would have to change the heavy cables and the junction block location, don't know why they moved it next to the firewall, maybe for weight distribution?

@ 1,500 miles, and 33 engine hours:

-The washer system is bad. It sends out a bunch of fluid to only one location on the windshield.
-The door lock switch location puts it in a spot that makes it easy to activate by accident. (Hmmm...maybe they did that so you'd renew your OnStar subscription)
-There should be a large icon on the dash to indicate if you're in any form of 4WD. The little leds on the switch are barely visible.
-The cruise control is not felt in the pedal, so if you increase or decrease the speed, you can't feel it in your foot.

.....more to follow

- Not being able to disable auto door locks
- no rear storage (although you can stuff a few emergency supplies into the well that holds the jack - mine now has an emergency blanket, water and MREs...)
- non flat floor when seats removed
- back up warning sensor system - the lights are kind of funky - our Super Duty has a system that uses audible beeping - as you get closer and closer, the beeping quickens, until it goes solid...just easier to use than finding three little lights and waiting for them to come on...
- no bluetooth

It beaps, you just have to be within about 6 inches of something behind you and it will start beeping real fast.
the little thing that get on my nerves the most is its impossible to keep the front windows clean, unless you just don't put them down at all. i like to keep the truck shined up and that drives me insane, I gotta keep a thing of windex in the back.

Headroom. Am I the only one that wishes there was more headroom. I am 6'2" and I only have about 1" of clearance. I am not a "leaner", more upright sitter. My wife's Jeep Commander has WAY more headroom, but way less interior space. Love the Yukon, just wish the seat would go down further.

Oh yeah, you're telling me, the headroom leaves much to be desired. Or more directly, the inability to lower the seat bottom more is the real culprit. I am 6'3", and I have to lean the seat back more than I want to to avoid making contact with the headrest on any bumps...of course, the sunroof makes it even worse.

I don't know why the seat has so little vertical adjustment, it really sucks. I even thought of removing the seat and seeing if there is a way to lower the mounting points an inch or two...

Also, why can't they give us a steering wheel that telescopes in and out like just about every other vehicle out there? I'd trade the power pedals for that any day...

so true! being tall sometimes has its disadvantages! let me know if you mess with the seat. it seems to me that the seat sits pretty high and the headliner rides pretty low to fit all the electronics in it. anyone found a way to increase the room?

Never thought there'd be an advantage down the road when I was the shortest kid in class.

2 More peeves:

-The blinkers continue to blink several times after you let go of the stem making you think you they're still on which results in slamming the stem in the other direction....and so on....and so on.....

-In the washer mode, the wipers sometimes give an extra wipe a few seconds later, again making you think you left the wipers on.

The tahoe was built with that feature. When changing lanes you just have to move the stick slightly and it blinks 3 or 4 times. I like the feature personally.

Adding one more to my previous list:
- applying the slightest tension to the shoulder belt in any way while driving seems to activate the 'crash mode' in the belt tensioner.

Anybody elses do that too? My '04 Trailblazer did the same thing. Must be a GM thing. I understand the concept but all I have to do is lean forward at anything faster than turtle pace and the %$*#! thing wants to lock up, and then it takes 3-4 attempts and retractions before the tensioner lets go. Very annoying.
