I own 2007 Tahoe, I love my car,but gas mileage is not so good.
I was looking around cold air intake, exhaust system, but I ran into some web site selling "performance chip" will gain upto 60HP and increase 4 to 7MPG in fuel economy. they says on there website, its connected to IAT sensor to do the job. price is less than $70
Does any one know it really works or not?
I need opinion before spend money on might not work.

Hey saw your post and it reminded me of what I was trying to do a couple of years ago if your trying to save money on gas it's the old story of you get what you pay for I tried to go the cheap route with a chip off eBay and 2 months later I was buying a hypertech Programer and as for a cold air intake depending on where you live as it get colder outside you will use more gas there great for performance but a good filter like a k&n in the factory box is about the best bang for the buck but it is very little maybe 15 extra miles to a tank

mmmm, get what you paid for....so didnt do much I assume.
I guess Chevy would done it if that really works.
I wanted check K $ N filter anyway, so I will check into filter or cold air intake first.

Thanks for the tip.appreciated

If that snake oil really worked, chevy would be all over it. Best way to save gas is keep your vehicle tuned, correct air pressure in tires, and watch the skinny pedal.

Thanks for post
What is snake oil!?Is that additive for engine oil?

So far, I decided to buy K and N filter, Fill tire air to 39psi, and I will think of buy programmer later on.

I notice something about how much effect on gas mileage.
Higher octane gas seems to have better MPG.
my car has 1 to 1.3MPG difference between 87 and 93.
I only have numbers for several tank worth of data, but
on my dash indicator showed AVG 14,4 to 15.7 city/hwy combine, so I might keep using 93 grade for while to see which one is easy for my pocket.

The phrase snake oil is a derogatory term used to describe quackery, the promotion of fraudulent or unproven medical practices. The expression is also applied metaphorically to any product with questionable and/or unverifiable quality or benefit. By extension, the term "snake oil salesman" may be applied to someone who sells fraudulent goods, or who is a fraud himself.

As per wikipedia.

Thanks. that was educational.I'll stay away from snake oil salesman.
I am pretty sure that I will start from air filter, tire pressure, the basics.
Also, I will keep put 93octan for while to see how much would change comparing between 87 and 93octane.
