Painted Running Boards

Has anyone had their stock running boards sanded smooth and painted, if so any pics? I seen a picture of a white one tahoe on the internet and it looked real good. Thanks

I'm sure it can be done and will look great. They will just be too susceptable to scratching and rock chips. It would be great for a show-only vehicle, but would not last for a regular-use vehicle. I have seen some running boards painted on old street rods (30 & 40 model years), but they were show cars.
