i havent seen any painted ones for sale only chrome ones. but for about $5 you can go buy a can of krylon fusion paint and paint your bowties yourself. it is very easy and not expensive. Or you could bring your bowties to a shop to be painted but more expensive.

i painted mine black to match:

these are mine. i took my bowties off and took them to a friends body shop he charged me $50 to paint them both they used the exact summit white color code and clear coated it several times( perfect match). the front one comes off by removing two 10 mm speed nuts right behind the grill. the rear was another story. i used a hair dryer and a credit card to remove it. i wanted to keep the chrome border so thats what i did. if you decide to go this route be very very patient when removing the rear bow tie. keep heating up and sliding the credit card behind the bowtie.

By behind the bowtie, do you mean behind the chrome, or the "gold"? Does the chrome border separate from the gold, or do you have to mask it off before you paint it? BTW, both of your bowties look great... good job!

I have to get mine painted. Originally I was going to go the chrome route but the painted looks so much better. The only problem is finding someone that has my particular paint color.

btw your ties look exceptional.

I'm curious though. What adhesive was used to put them back on?

I agree, they look great. I especially like how you left the chrome edge. I can't quite do the same with my GMC. I guess I could change the red plastic lens to match the body color.

I've done them both on a Chevy and 2 GMC's. The Chevy's are alot easier! Do like LVMS said, the front his held in by screws behind the grill and the amber bowtie comes out leaving the chrome bezel behind. The rear is a different story, you have to try and seperate the Amber portion from the chrome bezel with a heat gun and a credit card (Like LVMS described), but you have to be REALLY careful b/c the bowtie will want to crack on you. Once removed you can take them to a body shop and have them painted or do them yourself. I've always done mine myself. No sanding, just a couple of coats of adhesion promoter, couple coats of primer, couple coats of color, then a couple of clear. The adhesion promoter is the key! If you just use a primer it will chip ALOT easier.

On my GMC, you can remove it from the grill on the front as well but you can't remove it from the bezel. I taped the chrome off very carefully then followed the same painting procedure above. I just left the emblem on the rear and masked it off on the vehicle and followed the same painting steps.

Here's my GMC emblem on my Denali:

Almost forgot, just use 3M double sided adhesive tape to reapply the emblems.

My front one is a replacement that has been powdercated by Mike on this board. If my truck was ever clean enough, I would take a pic of it. He did a really cool orange (Auburn orange) for me.

The GMC looks excellent as well.

I took the time to go to a shop to get a quote for the painting of my bowties. The total came out to $72. I'm ok with that because I won't be able to find a spray paint to match the color.

$72 seems like a good price, good luck! I guess black is a little easier to color match, but there are places that can put the factory color in a spray can for you as well. Then you have to go buy adhesion promoter, primer, and clear so $72 seems like the better route for you. I already had all the supplies from previous jobs, so it just cost me $5 for color from the local auto parts store.

allando yes if you want the chrome "border" you have to slip the credit card between the chrome "border" and the gold bow tie. BE PATIENT if not you WILL break it. just heat it and start at one corner once you get about an inch in go to the opposite corner work your way from left to right and then from bottom to top (thats how i did it) dont keep the blow dryer on the bow tie all time . heat it up for 30 seconds work the credit card and again heat it for 30 seconds........... take your time if not you will break it and have to get another bow tie. the front one is easy just unbolt it and you remove the gold bow tie and the chrome "border" stays on the truck. to re install the rear bow tie i used 3m double sided tape then apply good pressure to get a good adhesion i also used to tape for the front just to be safe. they have been on for about 3 months and No problems, and i power wash it myself. im thinking about putting some clear 3m tape on the front bow tie to avoid rock chips, same stuff as the 3m clear bra. **** this is a long post  hope this helps sorry for the late reply

Thanks for the advise man... I'm currently trying to see if the dealership can repaint one of my doors because there is some rubbish under the factory paint. Then I'll ask if they can paint the bowties w/ the leftover paint. I think they'll do it if I were to take the emblems off for them.
