Welcome along!
To start you of with thats not a Denali bumper but rather an aftermarket rear bumper by Street Scence that you can get over at www.stylintrucks.com.
The front one is good looking too so you may want to consider it too!

Thanks for the replies guys, I have an '01 LT and I just despise that ugly ass bumper in the rear! I'd like a flush rear like that SS bumper is what it boils down to. I assume they make one for tahoes also? I'll check it out.

If that's a roll pan then ya, that's the look I want!

Do I want a steel or urethane? Seems urethane would be the way to go?

I just ordered a fiberglass one so I will let you know how that works out. Urethane is SUPER strong and I would say go that way if possible.

But yes, you are looking for a roll pan. Theres lots to choose from so make sure you know what you want. Im thinking you want something that has a plate notch out, bolt on style. Chances are you will have to use your stock plate lights and drill a hole in your new roll pan

Also, a lot of people "mold" there pans in. By molding you get rid of the body lines and make the rear of the truck look like one solid section. The white Yukon in the pic above has the pan molded in.

I would go with a steel one. They're a bit more durable. I'm not sure if the area on the body is metal or not, but if it is, you can weld it in place for a seamless look. I wouldn't recommend molding it if the body area isn't metal. It's likely to crack from flexing.

Thanks for the heads up on that - it would seem that "molding" would cause issues for pulling the roll pan off if you ever had to?

It could if you ever needed to I guess, but honestly, when was the last time you pulled your bumper off your truck? If you get a hidden hitch, you can get a pan with a hole cut behind the license plate and a flip down kit for your plate if you still wanted to tow something. Sir Michaels makes one with a hole already cut in it, as well as most of the hardware to make towing still possible. I've also used an FBI roll pan on a different vehicle and was very happy with it, although it doesn't have the hole cut out for a hidden hitch. I don't think you could go wrong with either one, as I've had good experiences with both companies. It would really just be a preference thing.

All of those pieces are part of the factory Denali body kit. You can find them on gmpartsdirect.com or I saw a few of them on Ebay if you wanted to buy them.
The rear piece is made to match up with a stock Denali bumper, so there are some issues with it looking a little out of place with a roll pan. You might consider not using the rear pieces or you could have them molded in for more of a custom look.

Here's a pic of a urethane roll pan on mine. The steel ones you can weld in to look smoother. But if you get rearended, then there's more work involved to repairing/replacing one that's welded in. The one I have is from Street Scenes and is pretty thick and durable. I have the Sir Micheals hitch and flip-up plate so I can still tow the boat and whatever else I need.
You can also have your stock bumper(s) powdercoated or painted the color of your truck, which would look nice also.

here is a picture of my tahoe with the SS one, if you get a welded one its most likely going to crack after a while where the welds are and the bondo is and also the problem what JK was saying with getting rearended

Chiming in late here... i have a Z71 so everything is painted to match, but i still hate the rear bumper because the parts that arent painted white are covered in Grey plastic... YUK!

I want a denali rear bumper painted white... this bumper is a little more pleasing to me because it has more white and instead of Grey plastic, its black plastic and would go nicely with my blacked out windows.

on that same note, i am still trying to figure out how to rid my entire truck of the nasty grey trim without heavy modification

by the way... i LOVE that white denali in that picture, i have been trying to track down those tail lights for 8 months now!!! I must have them

yea especially since your t-hoe is white it would look good with the plastic painted white especially with a denali bumper
