ok i got the new projectors in (look awsome IMO)

ok got some questions .

1. i expected to have to wire the angle eyes, but these came with extra LEDs on seperate wires, thats 6 extra lights on the parking light wires, can they handle that ??

2. Mikes HID kit wont melt these will they??

3. which wire on the light goes on which wire on the parking lights?

4 to wire them i would feel more comfortable using t-taps, which ones do i need ?
THANKS:thumbsup:

here are some pics

The LEDs don't draw much current at all, so there isn't much extra load at all on the parking light circuit. And don't use t-taps to splice into the wires. T-taps are bad, especially in vehicles because the vibration WILL cause the t-taps to come loose. Trust me; I can't tell you number of times I've traced an electrical problem to loose t-tap connections. The best way is to solder and heat shrink.

hmm, ok, i may take it to a custom shop to wire the angle eyes and leds then ( i will do it, but i dont feel comfortable doing it, i mean cutting the wires and putting them back is a little touchy to me) , but will do every thing else my self. Do t-taps fail if electrical taped once put in?

Electrical tape is flexible. Trust me on this- don't use t-taps or scotchloks. It may be fine for a little while, but eventually they will either work themselves loose or build up corrosion and resistance after time, especially outside the passenger cabin. If you are really set on doing this yourself without soldering, then at least use butt connectors. You'll have to cut the wires that you are splicing into, but at least these will hold physically and electrically better than t-taps.

i put butt clips in google and got somthing completly different from what i expected :eek2: so can you point me in the right direction??

so saudering and heat shrink is the best, can any local shop do it like an audio shop or should i take it to a specialist.

:smilielol: :smilielol: Dude, that's funny. I can only imagine what that pulled up!
Any custom shop should be able to do it. Don't go to any of the bigger chain stores like Circuit or Best Buy. They only deal with the simple stuff. Plus they don't usually solder.

Butt crimp connectors, just as an example.

Butt crimp tool
, example.

You can get this stuff at Pep Boys, Auto Zone, whatever for just a few bucks. Soldering iron and solder @ Radio Shack for under $15.00...

I used butt crimps when I hooked up my HIDs and modded my fogs. The connectors do their job well. Consider some electrical tape over the crimp connector, once you've tested things out. That'll help keep out the elements.

Good luck!

Hmmm.... Sicko, RT...

...how do these butt tools work...

Dude, I'm not sure I can even dignify that question with an answer! :smilielol:  :smilielol:

Seriously -- it'll be OBVIOUS when you see the parts in person. Strip 1/2" or less of wire, insert it into the connector, crimp that end. Insert the other stripped wire you wish to join into the opposite end, and crimp it. Viola, done.

So, basically, you just cram them in your butt and squeeze.

so i cut the wires, strip the insolation, crimp one end with one wire, squish the rest in (new ones) then crimp that. hmm sounds hard, which wire goes ware, red, red, black black, but what about the white wires??:confused2:

Dude, I dunno what wires go where, man. You asked how the connectors and tool work.

Sounds like you need some professional help!

:

Most aftermarket projectors state they are not compatible with HIDs. Mine even had the warning label discouraging HID systems. But you see what I did with them. I put the HIDs in 'em anyway just to see what would happen. A year later, still no probs.

new ones just got dropped off, STRAIT FROM DETROIT (gm parts)

but they use 9005 bulbs for both the projector and high beams, im, does this mean the 9006 hid kit will not work on this set :cryin: :mob: :wow:  :mad2:

here are some pics of the new set, i really want to use these as their what gm puts on the denali, just for a regular yukon, and they are MUCH esier to wire for the ANGLE EYES, just two wires each insted of EIGHT. these also feel more beefy, alot heavier and feel more up to par with real world stuff, plus i can aim these, the other ones i CAN NOT aim them.

so which do you guys like better:confused:

hidpro.jpg

hidpro2.jpg

ONLY wires for halos, i might go get a sodering iron and some heat shrink if its that simple, the wires are both red. So since there are two wires per parking light, does it matter which one is put on there, also i dont see a NO HID sticker on these.

p.s. also jk thanks for the pics, just lookin , it looks like you have halo's and leds on your lights, did you not wire them for a reason. as they are not on in the pics.

Yea, I have 'em wired in. You just can't see them in daylight.
You can use either the 9006 or 9005.

Yea..just strip back some of the insulation on the wire you are splicing into, and wrap the leads of the other wire around that , then solder. But make sure you slip some heat shrink over the wire first before you make the connection. I'll post some pics in a few minutes to show you what I mean. Speaking of BowTie, I haven't seen him for a while.
