I have a 2000 Z71 Tahoe (Old body style) with OEM foglights.

Right now they are inop. I checked the switch, have power there, and power coming out. Fuse is good. So that pretty much just leaves the relay.

Only problem is I CAN'T FIND IT!

It's not in the main relay center under the hood.

Anybody know where it is?

Thanks.

Sorry, can't help you find the relay because mine didn't come with fog lights. You might have to consult a manual to find the location. Some car makers locate relays under the hood, but also under the dash. Maybe try looking there. Hopefully someone on here knows.

I'm kind of stating the obvious here, but you didn't mention checking. Are you sure that the bulbs are good?

I have checked my Hanes Manual, and it shows it in the wiring schematics, but no where else in the book. I can't figure it out myself from the schematics.

I have looked under the dash, and under the hood, but I am obviously missing it.

Thanks,

You could always call the service manager at your dealership. I have found them to be quite helpful for information like this.

I haven't figured it out yet.

And the local dealership said they could do it, but would charge me a couple hours labor to track down where it is.:mad2:

This may be slightly off topic, but does the fog lamp relay that you mentioned being located in the driver side foot well have four or five terminals? Thank you.

I wonder if there is a way to change this whole wiring up. I'll explain.

My 06 has a fog light switch that once hit, turns on the lights, and also turns them off. Once you turn off the engine, the switch toggles off so that when you turn it on again, the lights are off.

What I'd like to see is the swtich toggling the lights on/off period, so that they go off with the ignition but back on again with the ignition, so you don't have to hit the switch every time!
