What is torque management.

Okay, I'm on the waiting list for a BB tune. I read lots of people talking about torque management. I hate to sound like the total noob I am, but what exactly is torque management and what does it do when it's changed?

TMK, torque management is what is used to help save the trans and other component from excessive wear due to Mario Andretti driving styles. I think it's a big joke myself. I think GM did this to cut down on warranty claims for busted rear ends, transmissions, transfer cases, etc.

Every now and then I like to wail on the throttle on my truck, but I am met with the reality that I can not do so due to such an intrusive parameter.

I would get a tune, Lord knows i ahev never had one in any previous vehicle, but I am ignorant who has one for a flex fuel vehicle.
