I just bought a 2005 z71 tahoe yesterday. It was a repo and an impulse buy. Everything seems pretty good with it so far except the power window and door lock doesn't work on the passenger rear door. The lock will not lock or unlock on the driver side control or from the key fob, and the window will not work from the drivers side or the switch on the door. What should I do first, and what could it be? Thanks for the help, and for having me on the forum.

Look for a break in the rear door jam you need to remove the black rubber weather protector .. you want to look for a break in the orange wire thats the power suply circuit to the left rear door wires will break in that area due to the opening and closing of doors If thats ok look for a break in the black wire which is the ground wire hope you can find something there if not in the door jam there may be a break in one of those two wires from the 25amp circuit breaker that is in the I/p fuse block to the left rear switch

Ooops what an idiot.. for some reason I thought it was the left rear door you were talking about but in either case it is still a orange wire and a black.. but you say the door lock is also inop on the body side of that door like I posted previously the black weather protector boot needs to be pulled back theres a bulk head connector that maybe completely disconnected and or poor connection to where it may not be seated property

Thats not correct the both rear door locks are on the same circuit which is a 20 amp fuse in the left side of the instrument panel when you open the driver door there is a somewhat of an upside down triangular shaped cover with a molded impression of a fuse look at the back of the cover it will have a location and amp size of each fuse the one for the door locks in the rear will say locks but again both rear door locks are on the same circuit. .. and the window takes a 25 smp circuit breaker which has a metal housing on it and it look like a big fuse again different circuit

Well I didn't even have to make it that far.. I played with the weather stripping and the windows started working, no luck on the locks though. I'm going to mess with it more this weekend.

Thank you for the advice... Haha yeah I didn't say anything about the fuses. I did speak with him tonight though and told him I thought it was in the wires since I got it working.
