No Backup Lights

Greetings,
Just purchased a 99 TAHOE with 4L60E transmission. The backup lights are not working. Replaced both bulbs as they were bad but still no lights.
Does anyone know where the reverse switch is located?

Drivers side of the transmission, check that the bulb sockets are good also.

Ahhhh, the glory of having a 12 volt test light. Standard inexpensive tool.

Replacing the backup / neutral switch solved the problem. I will say that removing a switch that has been installed for awhile took much patience.

Yea those units on the side of the trans can be a friggin' PITA!
