I'm new to the site but have always had a thing for the 2 door Tahoe/Yukon/Full-size Blazers. I wouldn't mind buying a '96-'99 later this year but I have a few questions. What is the difference between the Base, LS, and LT models? And does anyone know where I can find an article on this? Also, how much cargo room do you lose in the 2 door versus the 4 door? And is there a reference for GM production volumes for these years?

Not sure what base is. But LS is cloth interior and LT is leather and usually has all the amenities.

My LT doesn't have all the stuff that I saw even in some cloth-seated tahoes when I was looking around at ones to buy.

I have a power drivers seat but not passenger, both seats do have airpumps to pump up their backs, no heated seats or mirrors. 6 reading lights! the compass/thermometer mirror.

go with a 98 LT, it has everything you could want. 4 door has more cargo room because you can fold the rear seats down. The 4 doors are also usually found in better condition because they were originally used as a family car instead of a work or off road truck.

And you could get leather as an option in an LS right? LT just maybe means standard leather then, I can't think of anything else special mine has.

Or mine could just be an LS with leather seats and whatever dealer lot that stuck the Z71 badges on it stuck some LT ones too. Cause it doesn't have a z71 code in the glove box, if they faked z71 for big time cash money they might've stuck some LT badges on too.

I debated on a 2-door, mainly because they're different. But i got a 4-door mainly due to the extra cargo room. I can fit my big a$$ sub box and still have plenty of room for my extra crap. and im not one to move my seat when someone needs to get in the back seat. I sold the other 2 cars to get away from that.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. It doesn't sound like there are any major options associated with the trim levels. I was concerned the LT might have push button 4x4 activation while the LS had the manual lever 4x4 activation or something to that nature. When it comes to seat material or heated seats, that's just something I'm not too concerned about.

One place to look is edmunds.com. Under Used Cars -> Research Prices and Specs drill down to the year and model then look in Available Features.
