My 99 tahoe-yesterday when I stepped on the gas the truck sputtered. The more I stepped on the gas the worse it got. I found this forum yesterday looking for helpful input. Tried the cheap fix first- cleaned the MAF sensor.This did nothing. So this morn' I took my son to daycare at a medium pace, cause I had no power. I shut off the truck, bring my son inside, come out to the truck to start it and it woould not start. It's turning over but, won't pop. I think it's time to replace the fuel pump again. I replaced it about 1 1/2 year ago. I tried hitting the gas tank with a rubber mallet but that didn't do it. No sound of it primming. So what do you guy's think-time 4 a new fuel pump, or any other suggestion's?

may want to check the relay under the hood before you drop the tank again.

good call 96 procomp-I looked at it and it looked
a lil coroded, so I will try that before I drop the tank! Thank's for the input.
Yesterday I put a lil gas down the throttle and it started, then it killed about 3 blocks away.
Any idea's on that situation
If that does not work, someone told me try the fuel pressure regulator.
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!

yeah def. make sure you are getting pressure with the regulator. there like $30 bux or i think autozone loans them out.

may want to check the fuel filter if your getting a real low pressure.

better to start with the cheap things then the expensive.

Another one bite's the dust!!!
The fuel pump was the culprit.
And guess what's worse, the one year
warranty I missed by 4 days.-ouch-
Any how fixed it Saturday. Almost 3hrs.
Would have been quicker if the tank was
not 3/4 full. Had a few brews on the job though.
So I,m back in action!!!
