Late last year I just bought an 08 Tahoe LTZ. Loving the truck so far, a little over 100k miles and drives/pulls strong.
A little about me I'm an executive for a major retailer for my career but my passion is skiing. During the winter I work as a ski patroller on my days off. I bought the Tahoe after my jeeps transfer case blew up. Best change so far is the 5.3L power up mountain roads and added room.
First thing I did was put on an exterior transmission cooler because I had read that the in-radiator one was sub par and commonly failed and caused both transmission issues as well as engine temp problems. It's mounted in front of the radiator right behind the bowtie. I also changed the bowties to matte black after the OEM gold ones were cracked/faded. The tahoe is silver.
Next on my list is tires/wheels. I want to get smaller diameter wheels to allow a higher profile tire. I'm thinking 17" wheel with a BFG A/T or similar tire. Anyone out there with a similar set up? Not planning on lifting it because it's my daily driver and my project is a 65 CJ (slowly but surely).
Anything you all would do? Anyone really happy with their wheels?
Thanks!
