Hey everyone, the name is Tom and I'm the proud owner of a "new to me" '03 Tahoe.

I got rid of my '06 STI and got the Hoe so I could bring my girlfriend, her daughter, our mountain bikes and my dog on camping trips around the the west coast/south west US.

I already added a few enhancements to the Hoe to make life a little more comfortable while on the move.

Camping (Cleveland National Forest; & fog light has been fixed)

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new purchase! Nice truck and pics. Nikon makes a good dslr don't they? I've got one myself:cool:
Anyway, this is a cool place to learn stuff about your truck. Looks like you're off to a good start with yours.

Looks good Tom! I just got rid of my 02 WRX and picked up a 06 Tahoe. Actually, the WRX got rid of me, it threw a rod. Is that your Leggy next to the hoe?

I love Nikon and have been shooting them for years. I've found that photography is a very expensive hobby once the bug has bitten.

Wheels = 20"
Tires = 285/50-20

It's my GF '06 LGT.

Are you crazy?! I didn't think that there was anyone else like me! Yesterday I signed my '06 STI away to get a Denali XL. I'll be picking it up later in the week.

It's almost as if we live in a parallel universe :lol:.
I'm not a baller but if I was the Denali XL would definitely be on my short list.

Do you happen to have a straight-on side shot of your Tahoe? I'd love to see how those rims / tires look from the side.... :thumbsup:

Thanks! That's perfect! I wanted to see how well it filled the wheel wells... I did some converting to see what I was looking at for tire sizes last night... gotta decide on what I want.

Once these tires wear out I'm going to replace them with some sort of all terrain model as the places I frequent require a little more rugged tire. For street and highway cruising these tires are really nice but I chose this particular Tahoe because it has 4WD and these tires do not compliment the off road capabilities very well.

Yeah, the key is to find a tire that will withstand the terrain you want, as well as have good highway manners. That's what I'm looking at. I think Nitto has the Grappler that seems pretty nice. It's got a rugged tread as well as good highway manners (I think.. my buddy had a set on his '04 Tahoe... and it seemed to be pretty good)
