I'm having new mufflers installed. Is it a good idea to have the shop install new exhaust manifold gaskets?

Or is that just wasting precious money?

Do you have an exhaust leak coming from them? If not then I would not because then you run the risk of breaking a bolt off and then it would get expensive.

naw, mufflers are 2 pieces of piping away from the manifold/ block. unless yours are leaking, you dont need to replace anything there. when you dump the stock cats, you still wont need to replace them. its when you do the headers themselves that you would put in a new gasket.
