Hey guys im the proud new owner of an 03 denali that i picked up today. i love this truck. it really is lux and is a dream to drive. anyways i have a set of 6000k hids (9006) of course and i was wondering where people mounted them... i had them mounted in my honda and there was PLENTY of room now it seems like with a bigger truck that there is no good spots to mount. any input/pics/ how toos would be awsome... thanks guys!

Dont know if the denali headlights are that much different but i mounted my ballasts right behind the headlights.

Pull the housings out and secure the ballast to the plastic shroud around the radiator, they won't be seen when the headlight is back on and they're close to the housing so you'll have plenty of slack in the wires. You also know that these trucks have 9005 bulbs for highs and lows, right?

Yeah they're 9005, the regular yukons have 9006 low and 9005 highs but the denalis have a different housing with a halogen projector hence the different bulb. You're actually better off with the denali since the projector will give you a great cutoff and won't blind anyone at night like a regular housing. Here are my 6000k in the stock housing:

With 6000k fogs: (highly recommended to do the fogs either 6000k or 3000k if you want yellow)

I'll try to take pics of where I mounted the ballasts but it's pretty easy since theres so much room behind the headlights. Sell the 9006 kit to someone with a chevy or non-denali gmc and buy a 9005 kit off ebay:

i definatly cant wait to do the hids in the nali... i have them on my other 2 cars and my bike and its a world of differance... i was thinking of doing the 3000k in my fogs because i love the look of yellow fogs... if money constrains me ill just do the yellow tinted bulbs... i would definatly like to see where u mounted ur ballast boxes... i appreciate it man.

thanks boost, i appreciate that, thats what i thought u ment but i just wanted to make sure because i was gonna try to mount them up in the engine bay and see if the wires made it... that makes it look factory so there is nothing showing...

hey boost got a question for ya, is that the hid's you used? (the ebay link)... i was just curious because i got some hids off ebay and the worked but i had an issue with one and the guy ended up being a dead beat... meaning he wont respond to my emails... so if youve used this seller then ill go ahead and buy from him

bunch of fools over at gmfullsize have them with no issues, I bought two kits from vvme.com and they look great. I swapped from my old 6000k kit to the vvme low beam as well as fogs and I'm really happy with them. Seem to be a bit more than 6000k tho, that or my old ones were closer to 5000.
