First i would like to say hello as this is my first post on the site.

I have recently purchased a 99 yukon slt with 77k on the ticker.

The previous owner had service records all the way down to tire rotation back to 1100 miles so i know it is a very well cared for truck.

The only thing other than routine maintainence is the intake manifold gasket that these engines are known for about 7500 miles ago.

I have replaced the crappy door hinge bushings that GM uses and im in the process of trouble shooting the drivers side heated seat as it doesnt heat anymore. Where should i start with this?

I look forward to getting to know some of you and the wealth of knowledge available on this site and hopefully i can help some of you out as well as i have a fair mechanical background and have done my fair share of wrenching on muscle cars and my daily drivers.

I already love this site!!

Good find!
Every 99 I have seen has had the same issue with the driver's side seat heater. From what I hear the only way to fix it is to get a new seat. But, if you find a way to get it fixed, please let me know.

That certainly is not the answer that i was hoping for! Is it the heater coil inside the seat that goes bad?

hmm sounds kinda funny. its not hard to take the cover off you seat, done it many times. i was planning on replacing my seat cover but it only has a rip of an inch. and well ive seeeen alot more that are worse, so i thought id keep it on a little longer but i hate looking at that thing.. anyone know of any good repair shops with a website or something?? i want to put in a heated coil in the drivers only, and i think there around 100 bucks. which isnt bad and ill jsut route my own wiring and get a switch on my seat or dash..
