Factory Nav Problems HELP!!!

Edited post to the newest dilemma. Hit the bottom to see!!!

New here, so first I guess its hello to everyone!

Here is my question. I have a 03 Z71 with a nonLux Bose system, XM and all. I have recently purchased a nonLux Touch Screen Nav unit from a 05 Tahoe. I know that 99% of this install is plug and play. I know I will have to get the dealer to reset the theftlock with the techII tool. My question is with the VSS wire. I know that the nav will not work properly without it (jumpy and slow to update), and that I can install a toggle on this wire to cut off the VSS signal to imput a new destination while driving and then cut it back on to get the faster updating to position. My question is this. Where do I tap into the VSS wire (location and color wold be great) and where do I connect it to the headunit? Forum looks great and I hate I just now found it!!!

Location
ATX
You should have two connectors going intro the radio. On the smaller 12 pin connector, there may be a dark green/white wire in pin location E, depending on actual radio options. This is the VSS signal. Also, depepnding on which stereo option your truck has, there may be two green/white wires on that connector, right below each other. I've included a drawing of the connector to point out pin locations. Remember, you need pin E if your connector has that wire.
If not, there is a dark green/white wire at pin A4 at the instrument cluster connector. You can also grab the VSS wire at the PCM, but the gauge cluster would be a lot easier and less time consuming.

OK guys, help a brother out! I have gotten the radio installed, but run into another snag. I have an 03 Tahoe, and the nav unit I installed was from an 05. Problem is, when the guy at the dealership goes in to program the nav to my car with the TechII, nav is not an option for that year. He said I need to "trick" the TechII into thinking my car is an 04 or newer, and the only way to do this is have a VIN from an 04 or newer Tahoe so he can get the tool to program mine. Any suggestions on what I should do? I am desperate at this point. I have been trying to get this done for a month now. Got the unit finally, had it put in, and now I can't get it programmed. HELP!

This is what he was gonna try and do, but he said he had to have a VIN from an 04 to build it. So that isn't the case?

2004 Chevrolet Tahoe - 4WD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Radio Setup (With RPO UM8)
The following service procedure requires programming or setup procedures to be performed on the radio.

Radio Replacement
Important: The radio theft will learn the VIN. Without learning the VIN, the radio will display a locked message (LOC or LOCKED).

If the radio is replaced, perform a VIN Relearn, located in the Special Functions section on the scan tool. Cycle the ignition when complete.

OK, so here is the latest deal.

Put the nav unit in my 03 Z71 today. The unti is getting power, as the buttons backlight and they go up and down with the dimmer switch. When I turn the key on and plug the radio in, all audio works perfectly. CD works, XM works, radio works, but the screen is black!!! The screen can work, because when you cut the car off and then crank the car, the chevy bow tie shows up for a second and then the screen goes black. Nothing you do gets the screen to come back on. I know the unit needs to be unlocked from the dealer, when I turn the car off and then back on the audio doesn't work (which is a dead giveaway that the theftlock is on). If you just turn the switch to ACC, no bowtie on the display at all. So, what is the deal here. Anybody got any ideas??? HELP!!!
