I have a general question for those of you with Navigation and RSE. I currently have RSE, but I want to add the factory navigation up front. The question I have is... The navigation runs off of a DVD, correct? So how do I play a DVD on my RSE if I have the navigation disc in? Is it one or the other, or am I missing something and you can you run both at the same time. I just want to make an informd purchase.

If it is an either or type of thing I may look into an aftermarket unit or better yet build a carputer for it.

Thanks in advance.

To be perfectly clear, there are TWO versions of the nav system. Both have the nav-disc slot (which happens to be a DVD slot) behind the screen. That slot is only for the nav disc. There IS a non-DVD-capable version with a CD player above the nav screen that does NOT play DVDs. There's another version you get if you get the nav+RSE package that DOES play a DVD. Be sure of the version you want before you purchase, otherwise you'll wind up swapping out the head unit, which would be $$$, and is annoying. Dunno why GM does some of the things they do sometimes...

The part number I am looking at is 25857364, which I am pretty sure is the newest version of the NAV with RSE. I know I will also need the VSS and nav DVD, Thats for the heads up.
