Ok I found this thread in the O7 Tahoe section.

The thread basically says the coils aren't worth the money.
Here is a quote from MSD's site.
Has anyone here done any ignition upgrades to the 4.8L? (not programmers or ECM tunes)
This is my first distributorless ignition vehicle so I'm not sure what to believe at this point. I am a big Fan of the MSD 6A but that is for a distributor based ignitions... I've got new plugs and MSD wires. What I'm really wondering is: Is there a bolt on ignition component for the LS1 that will give similar performance/MPG increases to the MSD 6A?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

According to GM insider...
Do not use the MSD MSC Kit for GM GEN III LS-1/LS-6 Engines on your new 2007 Tahoe.
One of the enhancements to the Gen-IV engines (found in 07 Tahoe’s) is a more efficient and powerful coil pack and I’ll wager a bet that these new MSD coils are built around a similar design as the current OEM GEN-IV coil paks.
It is very unlikely that a person would notice any difference in performance or economy if they installed the MSD coils on an older stock GEN-III engine either because the new coil-near-plug design is so vastly superior to the previous cap and rotor ignition systems it leaves much less room to improve upon.
Aftermarket performance parts companies (like MSD) are forced to introduce products such as these MSC coil pack kits in order to remain in business; however as the market shifts to more high-tech it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to develop products that impact performance the way their products did when we were kids.
With all that said I’m sure that we’ll hear from somebody that installed these coils on their Tahoe and now gets 40 MPG and pushes 400 HP.

Finally a performance replacement coil for the popular Gen III GM small block! This engine, most notably the LS-1 and LS-6, is fast becoming a favorite performance engine. But, not just in Camaros, the new GTO and Corvettes - also in muscle cars and street rods.
The complex electronic controls of the original coils presented the aftermarket with a challenge as the drivers that control the firing of the coils are built into the OE models. MSD engineers were able to design an advanced circuit that will operate with the factory electronics of the Gen III engine controls while producing a higher output spark. Not only do you get a higher voltage spark, but the coil will deliver multiple sparks! That’s right - multiple spark discharge coils! Notice that the coil has two connectors molded into the custom housing.
One accepts the factory coil connector, the other is for an upcoming ignition controller. (This controller is still in the development stages but it will allow you to program functions of the ignition. We’re planning a lot more for the Gen III fans!) The new coils mount in place of most factory LS-1 and LS-6 coils.
