ok i have a 99 yukon with an aftermarket radio (pioneer deh-p3700mp). I also have the xm radio stuff added on to it. i know theres a aux input option to it but i dont know where it is. i think maybe the xm unit is using it, but im not sure. and im pretty sure the rca jacks on the back are for output only. what im trying to figure out is, is there a way to have a hook up for my mp3 player without having to have an fm modulator? i dont want all those wires and stuff hangin all over the place. its not an ipod by the way. ok i think thats it. thanks in advance.

I have the Pioneer DEH-P7700MP and the add on Pioneer XM unit. (best $100 spent in a long time.)

if you have the XM add on unit from pioneer its using your aux. jack on the back of the head unit. Not sure if Pioneer makes a splitter to be able to use two different inputs on it or not.

the RCA jacks are outputs only. depending on the unit you'll have fronts and rears, some have sub pre-outs. I want to say mine had another port in the back of it, but i can't remember what it was for.

yeah mine has the 4 rca outputs for front and rear, the aux/xm input, harness plug-in, antenna hole and a plug-in for a wired remote. if they do make a splitter, im thinking that you would have to stop one to hear the other one. you know. like both would be on the same band. i think there should be 2 "aux" bus inputs. well there probably are on the newer ones. theres not even an aux 1/4" plug on the front. and i cant find anything thats not for a effin ipod. i have a creative zen+ that does all the same stuff as an ipod but for like half the price.

on another note i hate this effin keyboard. its a piece of crap. every other letter i type doesnt show up. son of a... im tired of having to go back through and add missing letters and or spaces.

ok theres my rant. i just want to listen to all of my stolen music, lol. i might just have to break down and get oneof those fm mods.

thanks for your help man.

good luck getting an FM transmitter that works. the G/F has a Non- ipod and hasn't had any luck finding one thats worth using. ended up getting the cable since she doesn't have XM.

first time that cell phone rings you'll hate the transmitter.

D@mn, just remembered, theres another port in the back of the XM unit for the multi cd player or aux. thats the other port i was thinking of. should be able to plug the cord into it and still use the cable.

may look into getting an ipod for the truck now...

the one i messed with would pick up on the cell signals when it started to ring. can't remember what the brand was though.

won't ever see one of those in my 'hoe after that.

this is the unit im using:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/P...Radio/In-Car/ci.GEX-P920XM.Print?format=Print

Picked it up at best buy for $101.99 after i looked at the install directions for the overpriced Xm radio that had to use the FM transmitter and craptastic lighter plug in. (was almost 3 times the price when it was said and done as well)

back to the topic, the blue port in the picture is where the second device plugs into. should have the same blue port on the back of your head unit.

i know you don't have an i-pod, but this is the only thing i found on the pioneer website:

now all i have to do is get one of these... i think its called "IP-BUS-RCA"...

pioneeripbussrca.jpg

and get oneof the units like you have and run it all together. i have the rca plug to my mp3 player cord already. so there we go. if you didnt want to get an ipod you could always go this route. or if your g/f has a pioneer aftermarket headunit you coud hook hers up with that. just skip all the xm stuff. i think that ip-bus-rca thing is like $10-$20.
