I getting ready to buy a new magnaflow muffler online for my 05 tahoe and have my local shop put it on for me. I'm just not sure which one to go with. I just want a single in and single out. How do I find out for sure what size pipe I have coming into the muffler? I will probably want to go with a 22" since I want it to be pretty sane in terms of loudness. I kinda use this as a work ride and take clients to lunch in it. I know there have been a lot of discussions about this on this forum but havn't found exactly what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys...and gals.

if your taking it to a shop than they should be able to take care of all these questions for you...

whenever i stop being a poor little b!tch, i plan on getting the 22"... seems to be a nice tone without the drone

I just don't want to go to the shop with it cause if they don't overcharge me for the magnaflow then they'll try to sell me some pos muffle that I don't want. But, that might be what I end up doing. Got a neighbor that has done some muffler stuff. He said to use a sewing measuring tape, wrap it around the inlet pipe then divide by pie. That should give you the dia. Sounds like it will work to me...

Good, then I got it. Then I should just check the position of the in/out and make it the same on the new one. Thanks for talking that thru with me. Yeah, I hear ya about the money. The only reason I am doing this now is the baffle came loose on the stocker and it rattles like hell when I start it and at low rpms. The noise is killin me.
